Cinnamon and sugar might just be the sweetest combination known to man. But want to hear something sweeter? Sunshine Nut Co is revolutionizing the nut industry. They're the only African cashew brand to centralize their supply chain—growing, shelling, and packaging locally to minimize their carbon footprint while boosting Mozambique's economy. They've also created the Sunshine Approach Foundation, which works with the government to create jobs, fund shelters, and provide education and childcare.

Sunshine Nut Co.
Don Larson spent decades of his first act at Hershey’s, where he sourced cocoa for the chocolate giant and was constantly confronted by the extreme poverty of the regions in which he worked. Fast forward to 2011, when Don and his wife moved to Mozambique to fulfill a new dream: creating lasting economic change by building food production factories. Sunshine Nut Co. employs primarily adult orphans and has developed extensive relationships with orphanages and other community organizations in-country, donating 90% of their profits to these partners. Not only are they creating employment opportunities, but Sunshine Nut Co has also created Sunshine Houses where they create family units by matching widows with orphaned children.
