Why we love it

It's great that these deliver a tortilla chip texture with the added twist of spicy barbecue flavoring. We know the term "pulp" might not bring to mind a crisp, crunchy chip—but that's exactly what these are. The heat comes from a chili powder, along with a few other tasty seasoning.

How it does good

Cutting back on waste by pressing vegetables

A lot of food ends up in landfills each year. It's estimated at about 40% of everything we grow lands there. Fortunately, Pulp Pantry took a look at the situation and stepped up to make a change. That change starts with fresh vegetable juice pulp. The process not only cuts back on food wase, but it also keeps about 38 gallons of water from going to waste (per pound of pulp, that is). The end result adds up to a satisfying chip that adds nutrients to your diet while saving cropland.

  • responsible sourcing

By using upcycled ingredients, Pulp Pantry produces minimal waste. They're even able to turn the pressed vegetables from bigger manufacturers into delicious chips.
  • supporting key causes

Each year, Pulp Pantry saves about 30,000 square meters of cropland, 932,000 liters of water, and over 13,000 kg of nutritious vegetables.
  • low carbon footprint

Pulp Pantry is Plastic Neutral Certified by rePurpose Global. Currently, they're working toward zero waste packaging. By subscribing to yearly Climate Collaborative commitments for reducing food waste and using Ellen MacArthur Foundation's Circulytics, Pulp Pantry is constantly improving their practices.

Pulp Pantry founder Kaitlin Mogentale was inspired to fight the 40% of food that goes to waste in the U.S., especially the waste of fruits and veggies (the healthiest of foods). So, she created Pulp Pantry. Their better-for-people, better-for-the-planet snacks are made from overlooked vegetable byproducts like organic juice pulp.

These are REALLY great with some guacamole, dipped in sour cream or just plain! Don't expect a processed "Lays" BBQ sort of flavor, this is more spicy and less sweet.

I absolutely love these chips. The flavor is powerful and delicious. And I love that you are helping to fight food waste while you snack.
