Sweet Ginger Tea

teapigs

A little sweet, a little spicy, a lot of what you'll want in your next spot of tea. This one's got warmth from the cup and from the ginger.

Sustainable goodness

Teapigs was the first ever fully plastic-free tea brand. They call their tea bags “tea temples”. They’re made from cornstarch mesh and are industrially compostable.

Why we love it

A bit of a departure from the mild nature we boast about for Teapigs—but in a good way. When it comes to ginger, we want to taste it. The spicy kick and sweet undercurrent remind your tastebuds of a good ginger beer.

How it does good

Giving back to the the communities in Rwanda

Tea sourcing can sometimes negatively impact the regions where tea is grown. Teapigs fights against this by supporting communities in Gisenyi, Rwanda, where their teas come from. They use their business model to make a difference. They work with organizations that provide care for disabled children and young adults in Rwanda and make donations towards the hidden costs of education. On top of that, they’re doing their part for the environment. Teas come from high-quality, well-run tea estates, and the packaging is fully plastic-free.

  • supporting key causes

Donations from the English breakfast tea go toward The Point Foundation in Rwanda. They also contribute to the hidden costs of education with donations to the UCC Children's School.
  • responsible sourcing

teapigs sources whole ingredients. They don't use any sprays whatsoever, pay their workers a living wage, and use sustainable farming practices.
  • Certified B Corp
  • Forest Stewardship Council Certification

How to use it

Once your water's boiled, you're just 3+ minutes away from a soothing cup of tea.

When you're done...

The outer pack can go right into your curbside recycling bin. Inner wrappers are home compost or industrial compost bins. The tea temples are industrial compost only.

These are general guidelines for broadly-recyclable materials. Check with your local recycler to confirm what they take.
