Crushed Tomatoes

Sustainable goodness
bionaturæ® uses USDA-certified organic ingredients and reduces their carbon emissions by using renewable solar energy.
Why we love it
It's Italian night in your house. Pasta is boiling, bread is in the oven, and a sauce is simmering. For moments like this, you need ingredients you can count on. bionaturæ knows what it takes to whip up a memorable meal. Their crushed tomatoes are sourced from organic farms in Italy. Does it get more authentic than that? The best part is: you can use them for all sort of dishes (not just pastas). We're fond of putting them in a pot of chili and lentil soup, too.

How it does good
A deep commitment to better farming and better food
bionaturæ is dedicated to reducing their environmental impact. First, their ingredients are grown on small organic farms in Italy that practice crop rotations and other earth-friendly techniques. bionaturæ also uses sustainable practices when harvesting and processing their fresh ingredients. Their olives are hand-picked and pressed into oil in less than 24 hours, while their tomato canning facility is only a stone's throw away from the fields where the tomatoes are grown. They've also installed solar panels on their warehouse roofs and use fully recyclable or compostable packaging.
-
responsible sourcing
bionaturæ sources from organic and non-GMO farms who use regenerative techniques and traditional methods honed over generations of family farming. -
low carbon footprint
Within Italy, bionaturæ minimizes transportation emissions by pressing their olive oil, dehusking their wheat, and canning their tomatoes within a stone's throw of the fields where the fresh ingredients are grown and harvested. They recently installed solar panels above their warehouse that will cover over 100% of their electricity consumption. -
recyclable packaging
bionaturæ uses a mix of recyclable and biodegradable packaging that is free of plastic and BPA. Even the clear windows of their pasta boxes are made of compostable FSC-certified wood pulp. -
supporting key causes
bionaturæ supports regional and national hunger-relief organizations including Feeding America and Children's Hunger Fund. They also support their community's wellbeing through their donations to local schools and organizations like the Connecticut Cancer Society.
How to use it

Make mom's sauce recipe with them or throw them in a pot of homemade chili.
When you're done...
Leave the lid attached and press it gently into the can before recycling the whole thing in a curbside bin.
These are general guidelines for broadly-recyclable materials. Check with your local recycler to confirm what they take.
