Grown and harvested in the coastal province of Denizli, Turkey, these intense little seeds bring a whiff of the Mediterranean to your very own kitchen. With a complex blend of tasting notes and a thousand year old history, raki anise will have you dreaming of your next trip to Turkey. And there are just so many ways to enjoy these them.

Sprinkle some on a roast chicken or fish with a little lemon juice and olive oil for a classic Mediterranean meal. Or grind (or add whole) to cookies, biscotti and other pastries. Pairs well with Wild Mountain Cumin, Zanzibar Black Peppercorns, and Royal Cinnamon.

How it does good

Burlap & Barrel sources their spices directly from farmer cooperatives and small farms. They visit each of these farms, spending time with the employees to learn about the economic, social, and environmental implications of their methods. Every decision they make is fueled by their goal to end inequality and exploitation in the food industry. They do this by connecting small farms to high-value markets, educating consumers about the impact of product traceability, and sourcing unique foods that are grown using biodynamic and organic techniques.
