Why we love it
This bar is somehow both creamy and bite-able. Smooth and crunchy. Delicious and amazing. Okay, the last one is more obvious, but those other ones are definitely an accomplishment. Tart cherries brighten up the rich, nutty flavors of this bar. Every bite has the crunchy goodness of roasted pecans right alongside those cherries. And the secret ingredient? Askinosie small batch dark chocolate. That's right, this bar just got even better. Add all that to the knowledge that you're snacking on extra fiber and protein, and we're predicting some happy campers around here.

How it does good
Starting from scratch and building something better
Nut butters can be made with very simple ingredients. Namely the nuts themselves. When it comes to farming them, Big Spoon Roasters has committed to responsible sourcing. Mark Overbay, the founder, was inspired to create his nut butters after spending time in Zimbabwe. There, he learned to honor simple ingredients and bring care into everything he makes. By using trusted, transparent farms and producers that share their philosophy, Big Spoon makes it clear that their relationships with suppliers are honest and long-lasting. Doing this means both the farmers and Big Spoon can help each other by collectively growing the demand for higher quality, sustainable agriculture. Today, Big Spoon makes their delicious nut butters in Durham, NC. They also work with Bee Friendly Certified almond growers in California along with domestic pecan farmers in Georgia, ginger farmers in Fiji, sorghum farmers in Tennessee, and more partners that ensure freshness, flavor, and quality.

recyclable packaging
Every nut butter jar is fully recyclable, and so are the bar boxes. Plus, the labels are printed with non-toxic ink. -
supporting key causes
Big Spoon supports non-profit organizations that cover environmental conservation, wildlife habitat preservation, animal rights, human rights, hunger relief, literacy, education for the underprivileged, physical fitness, eating disorder recovery, and sustainable agriculture. -
responsible sourcing
As Good Food Guild members and founding members of their local Living Wage business community, Big Spoon cares a lot about responsible sourcing. Although they source their organic cashews from farms in Vietnam, they're processed at SMETA-audited facilities to ensure high standards.
How to use it
You can enjoy these bars any time you want, but they make a great breakfast treat.
When you're done...
