Resealable Gallon Bags

Sustainable goodness
Compostic is the world’s first certified home compostable alternative to traditional plastic cling wrap.
Why we love it
Gone are the days of chucking resealable plastic bags that usually end up in the landfill. Meet your new food storage staple. Made without traditional plastic, GMOs, and BPA, these bags check all the boxes. The best part? Once you’ve washed and reused a bag to the end of its prime, you can chuck it into your compost bin and watch it break down faster than the orange peel you threw in at the same time.

How it does good
Redefining clingy
It’s no secret that traditional plastic goods around the house are non-compostable, especially resealable bags and the like. Conventional plastic is an extremely useful product but the main problem is that it takes hundreds and hundreds of years to degrade. Compostic is shifting the narrative with their 100% compostable alternatives—all without sacrificing convenience.
-
responsible sourcing
All of Compostic’s products are entirely conventional plastic-free, non-GMO, and BPA-free. And they’re constantly researching potential renewable alternatives for their materials. -
low carbon footprint
By helping to eradicate the need for traditional plastics from the home, Compostic helps reduce dependence on plastic. -
supporting key causes
Compostic partners with Eat My Lunch to provide school lunches free of charge to children who would otherwise go hungry at lunchtime. They also partner with Sea Cleaners whose aim is to try and remove plastic from oceans and beaches as much as possible. -
recyclable packaging
Compostic’s wraps and resealable bags are certified home-compostable, meaning they are friendly to worms and will break down completely in your home compost within 12-24 weeks, or within 12 weeks in a commercial compost facility. They use non-laminated kraft paper packaging with compostable soy-based inks.
How to use it

Simply open the air-tight zip seal, place in your contents and seal closed again to keep food fresh for as long as you need. For best results, store bags in a cool, dry place for up to 12 months.
When you're done...
Good news! The bags are reusable, and when you're ready to dispose of them, they are both home and industrially compostable. Recycle the paper box in a curbside bin (it's also compostable).
These are general guidelines for broadly-recyclable materials. Check with your local recycler to confirm what they take.
