Some might say that semi-sweet chocolate chips are for the indecisive. We think they're for the versatile. After all, these flexible little chips are just as tasty baked into banana bread as they are blended into your trail mix. The ideal balance of sweet and bitter gives them the complexity to be dessert one day and a power snack the next. So grab a bag and start dreaming up some recipes. There are plenty of possibilities.

For Equal Exchange, farmer fairness is a top priority, in addition to being one of the largest worker-owned cooperatives in the United States.

The plastic bags can be recycled through TerraCycle by following our special intructions.
These are general guidelines for broadly-recyclable materials. Check with your local recycler to confirm what they take.

How it does good

A closer connection between people and farmers

The tea, cocoa, and coffee farming industries are at the highest risk for worker exploitation and contributing to deforestation. For standard brands, these supply chains are notoriously lacking in transparency. That’s why Equal Exchange created a fair trade model that cuts out the middleman. Instead, they focus on direct, transparent trade with farmers and cooperatives. They work in collaboration with Root Capital and other organizations to help build farmer cooperative training programs. A USAID partner, Equal Exchange is heavily engaged in farmer cooperative capacity development, bringing technical assistance to in-country growers to help increase productivity, reliability and ultimately success in a global market.
