Why we love it

Most sponges in your shower are made from plastic and end up in a landfill where they can take over 400 years to decompose. This konjac sponge is made from 100% natural konjac plant fibre and is fully biodegradable in a home compost. The best part? Those fibers soak up water to become a cushy, gel-like pillow and creates a decadent lather. It might get harder to make it out of the shower.

How it does good

Shower essentials, the sustainable way

Most shampoos, conditioners, and body washes are over 70% water, loaded with synthetic ingredients, and come in single-use plastic. Enter, Everist. Their approach is truly less-is-more, crafting shower essentials that are clean, concentrated, and made without plastic containers. By completely removing the water from their formulas, they've also removed the need for added preservatives, resulting in cutting-edge formulas that leave your hair ultra clean, and ultra happy.

  • responsible sourcing

Everist concentrates their waterless formulations down to just the active ingredients your hair needs, and packs them in aluminum tubes that are infinitely recycable.
  • recyclable packaging

Every Everist tube avoids 3 single-use shampoo bottles that end up in a landfill. Their cartons and shipping materials are also made from 100% recycled and recyclable kraft paper.
  • low carbon footprint

Everist is climate neutral certified, and they reduce their footprint upfront with their concentrated products. They offset what's left with carbon credits.
  • supporting key causes

Through 1% for the Planet and Climate Neutral, Everist donates to projects that protect forest ecosystems in Indonesia, Brazil, and the U.S.A.

How to use it

Just add water and watch this compostable sponge transform into a cushy pillow for your body wash. Rinse with hot water after every use. Gently squeeze out excess water. Hang to air dry.

When you're done...

Good news! Recycle the paper sleeve in a curbside bin. When you're ready to dispose of the sponge, it is both home and industrially compostable. Find a facility near you at www.findacomposter.com.

These are general guidelines for broadly-recyclable materials. Check with your local recycler to confirm what they take.

Exceeded Expectations

I purchased this with the Dr Bronners soap and the two make a great combo. A few drops and run it under some water and it holds suds pretty well. Overall, Id buy again and bring a fresh one with me on vacations

Not in love

Much smaller than I anticipated it to be. And doesn’t hold soap suds very well. Also would have preferred it to have a bit of exfoliation texture to it but it didn’t. Just overall not in love with it. My husband liked it so we will keep it.

LOVE

Super cool, compostable, and you barely need any soap to lather for your entire body! Really like the texture too.

My new shower staple!

Why oh why has a konjac sponge never been a part of my life before? I've tried traditionally loofahs/poofs, but they always seem to scratch me and plastic in the shower? No thank you. This is soft, and billowy and feels like a cushion against my skin. The lather it creates is decadent. And to say that it is biodegradable and can go in my compost after a few months? SOLD!! I'm never turning back!
