How it does good
American products, doing a world of good
Founded in 1790, King Arthur Baking Company is quite literally an American institution. Their history of high-quality, reliable products stretches from the first president to the first chocolate chip cookie and beyond. But their eyes are firmly on the future. They've been a B Corp since 2007, and they believe it’s their responsibility to both do and encourage good. They’re dedicated to avoiding GMOs and harmful pesticides in their products. Plus, they donate 1% of their annual sales to environmental organizations. Their company is 100% employee-owned, and they’re working constantly to promote outreach with 40 hours of paid volunteer time, and diverse hiring practices. They’ve also committed $200,000 to organizations working toward justice, equality, and food education along with researching bakeries and farms that are owned and run primarily by BIPOC individuals.

I am not a baker in any sense, I certainly don't bake anything from scratch, and I often somehow ruin pre-mix things like this. But, I decided to give these a try, and I'm glad I did! I'm even more glad that I decided to follow the tip on the back of the box to get chewy cookies and add 2 tbsp of brown sugar - OMG deliciousness! Perfectly crispy on the outside, but ooey-gooey, chewy on the inside! These will be dangerous to always have on hand, but I'll be keeping a box stocked in my pantry at all times!
