How it does good
Using smart agricultural practices to save water
Rice production uses around one-third of the planet's annual renewable fresh water, but Lotus Foods supports More Crop Per Drop™—a smart agricultural practice that protects and restores natural resources such as fresh water, improves incomes and quality of life for farmers, especially women, and reduces climate impact. These practices also cut in half the time that women have to spend transplanting and weeding, lowering their risk for health issues.
Lotus Foods sources organic and Fair Trade rice from India, China, and Southeast Asia using smart agricultural practices that use a lot less water than other farms.Learn More
low carbon footprint
Flooded rice fields emit methane gas, which contributes to global warming. Lotus Foods combats this by reducing their methane emissions by 40% with More Crop Per Drop™. This technique uses half the amount of water to keep fields moist but not continuously flooded.Learn More

About the Brand
The Lotus Foods founders first fell in love with black rice while traveling in China. The rice was typically called “tribute rice”, or “longevity rice” because it was reserved for Chinese Emperors to ensure their good health and long life. In 1995, the founders started importing black rice, calling it Forbidden Rice® after the Forbidden City, the Chinese Imperial palace. They also work hard to make sure they employ sustainable practices and treat farmers fairly.Shop Brand

Needs Too Much Work
I have a feeling the folks who like this are using the noodles as in ingredient in their own soup. If you're willing to make broth and add vegetables and spices, you can use these like any other noodles. If you were hoping to add to a pre-made broth (I tried a lower-sodium chicken bone broth) to the noodles and get something like the ramen that comes in the store with a flavor packet, these just taste like water. The brand does sell these noodles with their own ramen flavor packet and maybe that would be better, but it comes with all the salt and bad stuff that regular store ramen does so not an option for me. By the way, these come with 4 noodle blocks but a serving size is 1/2 block and they don't break, so double the nutritional info if you're using a whole noodle block.
I love hive and the customer service has been awesome! I ordered these rice noodles twice. The first time they were great, the second time they were covered with mold.
Love it ! Very tastand easy to prepare
This product tastes delicious.
These were extremely disappointing. They are green, thin like angel hair pasta, do not look anything like the picture on the packaging and tasted awful. I bought four bags based on the video and positive comments only to be fooled and disappointed!
