Organic Coconut Milk
7 reviews

With their milk common in dishes from Southeast Asia, South America, and the Caribbean, coconuts ended up popular in so many places for a simple reason: they float. You can thank these buoyant fruits for making themselves so available, but it’s this creamy, rich-flavored coconut milk that has us writing out thank you cards. And did we mention it’s organic and cruelty-free?

How it does good
Supporting local sustainability on a global scale
Native Forest has been in the sustainable farming game for over 45 years. They pride themselves on doing their best. And they know that if you’re buying ethically, you’re doing all you can to support the planet, too. But they also want people to know that choosing plant-based products doesn’t necessarily mean that it's cruelty-free. In fact, a lot of the coconut milk we buy (to avoid dairy) is harvested through monkey abuse. That's why Native Forest has committed to changing this practice. Verified by PETA and certified organic, they support 15 source countries in improving their sustainability and reducing their carbon footprint. They're fully transparent in selecting farmers and packers who utilize environmentally-safe pest management, drought-resistant, organic crops, and BPA-free packaging. Their goal? A safer supply chain, and ethical foods you can feel good about buying.
Native Forest partners with growers they’ve actually met who are just as dedicated to avoiding animal labor, ensuring soil health, and promoting biodiversity. They’re also helping communities by celebrating regional foods and supporting small farms.
Learn MoreNative Forest partners with the Carbon Fund to monitor and offset their carbon footprint, working toward an even higher standard of environmentally-friendly business. By using organic coconuts, they source materials with higher water retention and less of an impact.
Learn MoreIn addition to more sustainable food production, they have their eye on accessible education, donating to schools and school support programs in the countries they source from.
Learn MoreNative Forest's cans and jars are 100% recyclable.

About the Brand
Native Forest
Joel Dee founded Edward & Sons in 1978 with a goal to provide delicious and convenient vegetarian foods crafted solely from familiar and wholesome ingredients. He drove throughout the USA towing his home (an Airstream trailer) behind him, sampling and selling his first products to health food stores and distributors along the way. In 1999, they created their Native Forest brand which carries delicious, ethically sourced, organic coconut milk, fruits, and vegetables.
How to use
Make delicious tiered brownies, or whip into pudding consistency, then add cocoa powder and honey for a flawless pudding without the box or the hassle.

Matcha
This is the only brand of coconut milk I’ll buy. I use it for dairy and egg free chocolate cupcakes, smoothies and my matcha lattes. Matcha powder, water, coconut milk, a little vanilla extract and sometimes I added fresh pineapple juice. I love that it doesn’t have any unnecessary ingredients like guar gum.

Creamy
Really great for pudding

My first purchase
I've used one can so far and I'm perfectly happy. My reason for buying this brand is that I learned about some other brands using monkeys to pick the coconuts. This one claims not to. Every local store that has it had only a can or two, so I found you. Coconut milk is a significant part of my vegan lifestyle, so I was glad to find you and will be back!

Organic Coconut milk -glad to have it
I can’t speak of the product now, because we haven’t used it yet.We maintain a Kosher mostly vegetarian kitchen. I bought the coconut milk for occasions where we cook a bit on poultry, with a recipe calls for a creamy sauce, at which time I plan to use this can of “Native Forest” coconut milk in place of milk, Happily the can lists Kosher certification which I appreciate.

Good with so many recipes!
Will buy again!!
