And getting in touch with its soft side, its BPA-free nylon bristles are soft enough to help prevent gum recession. Take your pick of a black or white base to make sure no one confuses your brush for theirs.

Gently brush using small circular motions, toward the gumline to remove plaque. Replace every 3-4 months, or once bristles get frayed.

The paper box is both curbside recyclable and home compostable. The bamboo handle is also home compostable, but first remove the nylon bristles with tweezers and throw them away. The brush can also be upcycled as a cleaning tool or garden marker. Find a composter near you at www.findacomposter.com.

    This is super rough

    This brush was really harsh on my gums and teeth. The bristles are not soft at all and there aren't any options for different bristles. The bristles are also still plastic and need to be removed before composting- if I'm going to take the extra steps for that, I really need something that isn't tearing up my mouth.

    Not a winner

    I was not thrilled with the Bamboo Toothbrush. The bristles were too soft and one came off while brushing my teeth. Yucky.
