Details

Anything's possible with these tampons, even on your heavy flow days (if you want to get out of bed, that is). Made with responsibly sourced organic cotton and without harsh toxins or chemicals, these tampons are the perfect alternative to regular period products produced with bleach and other questionable materials. During your time of the month, keep a stash of these with you at all times. You also never know if you run into a fellow menstruator who didn't know their period was starting that day.

Ingredients

100% Certified Organic Cotton (Core, Cover, Withdrawal Cord), Cotton (Sewing Thread), Water Repellent Wax (String), Cardboard Applicator, Paper Wrapper

How to Use

Tampons should be changed every 4 to 8 hours. Always make sure that you’ve removed the last tampon before inserting another.

Recycling

The box and paper wrappers are curbside recyclable. The cardboard applicators and organic tampons should be placed in the garbage bin. The cardboard applicators are also home compostable, but we don’t recommend using the soil to grow your dinner!

These are general guidelines for broadly-recyclable materials. Check with your local recycler to confirm what they take.

How it does good

For something as natural as a period, much of the world still stigmatizes menstruation. In fact, up to 500 million menstruating humans are globally living in period poverty each month. Led by their mission to restore menstrual dignity and cultivate a world where anyone can access safe and natural products, Rael distributes period essentials to those who need it most and supports menstruation education with their partners. Their toxin-free period products are just one of the ways they support holistic care for cycles everywhere.

Rael

Rael is on a mission to make periods better by creating holistic period products and tackling taboo. Their story starts with three women with a shared vision of empowering menstruating people to have healthier relationships with their cycle. In 2017, Aness An, a journalist and best-selling author, Binna Won, an architect-turned-art-director, and Yanghee Paik, a former movie distributor at Walt Disney Studios with a Harvard MBA, came together in their frustrations at the lack of clean, effective period care in the U.S. Originally from South Korea, the trio brought together organic cotton from Texas and cutting-edge manufacturing technology in Korea to create their own line of period care.
