Crunchy Cashew Almond Milk Chocolate Bar

Taza Chocolate

Rich, stone ground cacao is mellowed out by creamy almond milk. Before this starts sounding too "healthy," we must admit: there's still a bit of sugar mixed in there.

Sustainable goodness

Where your chocolate comes from—and how it was sourced—matters. Taza’s delectable, stone ground organic cacao is traded fairly. Plus, the farmers are treated with respect and paid a fair wage.

Why we love it

You know that saying, "a square a day keeps the cravings at bay"? Ok, maybe we fudged it a little (chocolate jokes). But the phrase couldn't be truer for this bar from Taza. The dairy-free delight is made with stone ground cacao, almond milk, and crunchy cashew niblets that have a hint of salt. The result? Pure sugary bliss that's minimally-processed and unrefined.

How it does good

From farm to factory: Taza does things the right way

While visiting Oaxaca, Mexico, Alex Whitmore tasted stone ground chocolate for the first time. It was love at first bite, and he knew: he wanted in on the chocolate-making game. But as he dug into the trading and processing practices, Alex was disheartened. Cocoa trading is a booming industry, but farmers and workers at the bottom of the chain don’t feel that same financial “boom.” When Alex started Taza, he committed to transparency every step of the way. Farmers are treated as partners, and Taza shares their success by giving back to local charities.

  • responsible sourcing

Taza says no to opaque supply chains and low-grade cacao. Instead, they source organic, fair trade cacao, paying farmers a fair wage for their labor.
  • supporting key causes

Taza believes in sharing their successes, which is why they donate to various nonprofits and charities. They also send their chocolate to organizations that help low income and at-risk youth.
  • Certified Non-GMO

How to use it

Break off a square and get lost in rich, creamy, crunchy flavor heaven.

About the Brand

Taza Chocolate

Taza Chocolate

Taza founder and CEO Alex Whitmore took his first bite of stone ground chocolate while traveling in Oaxaca, Mexico. He was so inspired by the rustic intensity that he decided to create a chocolate factory back home in Somerville, MA. Alex apprenticed under a molinero in Oaxaca to learn how to hand-carve granite mill stones to make a new kind of American chocolate that is simply crafted, but seriously good. In 2005, he officially launched Taza with his wife, Kathleen Fulton, who is Taza's Chief Design Officer and designed all of the packaging. Taza is a pioneer in ethical cacao sourcing and was the first U.S. chocolate maker to establish a third-party certified Direct Trade Cacao Certification program.
