Inside this minamalist box, you get 32 yards of dental floss made from eco-friendly bamboo fibers and activated charcoal. The naturally occuring ionic charge from the charcoal tag teams with a coconut oil blend of organic microbial properties to take on plaque and tartar buildup. The vegan candelilla wax coating makes for easy gliding action and the peppermint and spearmint essential oils leave a subtle refreshing feel. And maybe this is TMI, but the contrasting black of the floss makes it easier to see what was hiding between your teeth all day.

Terra & Co. designs elevated oral care products made from sustainably sourced bamboo while helping low-income and homeless women.

The bamboo floss can be thrown away for now, but the company is in the process of testing it for biodegradability. The box is curbside recyclable, but first remove the metal cutter and place it in a can of the same metal type. The waxed paper bag is compostable.
These are general guidelines for broadly-recyclable materials. Check with your local recycler to confirm what they take.

How it does good

Bamboo for dental excellence

Flossing is one of the most important things you can do for your dental health, but did you know that traditional dental floss can take between 50 and 80 years to decompose? And that doesn’t even include the plastic container. Tackling this issue is Terra & Co., the company making floss made from bamboo, one of the fastest growing resources that takes significantly less time to decompose than regular waxed nylon floss. And yes, this box of floss is completely recyclable.
