Protecting and supporting local honeybees has been a priority for Jacobsen Salt Co. and Bee Local since the beginning. With the help of like-minded local people, they've been able to rethink their operations and install a full service hive program in Southeast Portland. Jacobsen Salt Co.

Jacobsen is the first company harvesting sea salt in the pacific NorthWest since Lewis & Clark built salt works in 1805. With Netarts Bay as their base of operation, Ben Jacobsen’s salt and pantry products have earned praise from chefs and food media alike. Their sister business Bee Local sources and produces single-origin honey from various parts of Oregon and works to support the regional bee population.
