How to make Love Grown Cold Brew
We're springing forward - and that means it's officially cold brew season (for those of us not drinking it all year long). A few years ago, I got tired of paying for expensive cold brew concentrates or cups from the coffee shop, and decided to start brewing my own. Here's how you can do it:
Supplies needed:
(1) Love Grown coffee of your choice - I use Whole Bean, but you can use ground or even our compostable coffee pods
(1) Cold Brew Tumbler Kit, or a pitcher and a fine mesh strainer
Directions
- (if needed) grind coffee beans at a grind of around ~20
- Pour ground coffee or insert coffee pods directly into mason jar. We recommend between a 1:8 and 1:14 ratio of coffee to water. In our case that means around 8 coffee pods or 8-10 scoops of coffee to 6 cups of water.
- Insert the metal sieve if using grounds
- Fill to the top with water
- Let sit in the fridge or on the counter for up to 24 hours before serving
- If using a mesh strainer, pour coffee through the strainer before serving. If using a cold brew kit your coffee is ready to go as long as you keep the metal insert in your mason jar.
- Pour, sip and enjoy
