Maple syrup, just like fruits and nuts and grains, is sourced from nature. It comes from trees, and the trees that create the syrup, along with the land they live on, need to be taken care of. At Runamok Maple, a commitment to honoring the environment is core to their values. That's why they became certified organic by the Northeastern Organic Farmers Association and certified Bird Friendly by the National Audubon Society. And when Runamok works with third party suppliers, they make sure they're certified organic, too, as often as possible.
Runamok Maple uses solar panels on their product facility's rooftop to reduce their carbon footprint. For their syrup tapping, they use compostable cups to cut down on plastic in landfills. And the post-infused ingredients and barrels they pass along to other food and beverage producers help reduce food waste. Last, but definitely not least, every single tree they maintain in their sugarbush continues to take in excess carbon and breathe out oxygen.
