Why We Love It

You can make your lunch disappear in a snap. If only you could make plastic go away for good. These sandwich and food wraps are made from cotton cloth coated in moisture-wicking beeswax and jojoba oil. You know what that means: less wasteful plastic going in your bin. We love this set because it keeps a sandwich, fruit, and handful of nuts fresh for lunchtime.

How it does good

Our reliance on plastic has gotten out of hand. Every day over millions of single-use plastic items are tossed into landfills. To help reduce our wasteful consumption of plastic wrap and sandwich bags, Bee's Wrap creates reusable cloth wraps coated in organic jojoba oil and sustainably-harvested beeswax. You can use your bee's wrap as much as you want, but if it's been a while and you need a new one, you can simply add it to your backyard compost bin or use it as a natural fire starter. Bee's Wrap is also committed to a less wasteful manufacturing process. They're currently at near zero-waste production, and hope to continue to lessen their waste and energy usage.

How to Use

Lunch stays fresh until it's devour hour thanks to these plastic-free food wraps. Use the warmth of your hands to wrap - Bee's Wrap will hold its shape when it cools, creating a seal. To clean, rinse with cold water and mild detergent, then air dry.

Recycling

Shipping containers can be recycled in your curbside bin. Bee's Wrap is reusable but can also be composted.

These are general guidelines for broadly-recyclable materials. Check with your local recycler to confirm what they take.

Bee's Wrap

Bee’s Wrap started with a question: How could we eliminate plastics in our kitchen in favor of a healthier, more sustainable way to store our food? What founder Sarah Kaeck discovered was a lost tradition made new again. By infusing organic cotton with beeswax, organic jojoba oil, and tree resin, Sarah created a washable, reusable, and compostable alternative to plastic wrap. Today, Bee’s Wrap is a leading alternative to plastic wrap. From their headquarters in Middlebury, Vermont, they're creating wraps that provide a versatile and durable solution for sustainable food storage.

Beeswax wraps

We really liked the idea of these beeswax wraps and were happy to find that they work well. Definitely they cut down on plastic containers for our family’s packed lunches, and they are lighter and take up less space. (They also get attention at my kids’ schools, where people have asked what they are, how they work, and where my kids got them!) The only downside is that they need very gentle care in washing or they get wrecked. I would stress that beeswax wraps need to be hand-washed with cool/cold water only. If you use hot water, the beeswax starts to flake and come off, and then the wrap is no longer useable. (We learned this by trial and error, although using cool water is definitely mentioned in the instructions that come with the product.). If there is a way to reseal them after they start to flake, that would be great to know!

Love these!!

I have 12 wraps so far and I adore them all! I worked as a nursing assistant and they kept my food fresh my whole 16 hour shift (in the fridge and out) and now I’m in an office and they’re the talk of all my new coworkers!

Cute and very classy

It will.be a gift to my husband for his birthday. I am very impressed that they are already folded in shape for a sandwich and other snack items. The bear pattern is really cute. I am thinking of giving one of sets to my 5 YO grandson who loves. Bears for his school snacks.
