Why we love it

Here's one for your caffeine rotation. It's called yerba mate, and you've probably seen it around and wondered: what is that stuff? To put it simply, it's like a nutrient-packed tea (but it's not tea) with the caffeine zing of coffee (but it's not coffee). We love its rich flavor and smooth, earthy finish. And of course we enjoy the health benefits (re: vitamins and minerals). So go ahead, drink it morning, noon, but maybe not night 'cause, you know: caffeine.

  • responsible sourcing

Yerba mate is sourced from fair trade farms that practice regenerative agriculture.
  • low carbon footprint

How to use it

Add 1.5 tbsp of mate per cup of water in a French press. Pour in 3 oz of cold water to increase nutrient content. Let the leaves absorb the water for 30 seconds. Pour not-yet boiling water over the mate. Steep for 3-7 minutes then enjoy.

About the Brand

At Guayaki, they believe yerba mate is an invitation to life, and has the power to regenerate ecosystems and create vibrant communities. The company got its start when Argentinian Alex Pryor introduced Californian David Karr to yerba mate. The two saw a need for this nourishing source of energy and set out to share yerba mate with the world while doing good. Today, they promise that every time you purchase Guayakí Yerba Mate you're creating a positive global impact.

Very Good Quality

I love this brand because it's very similar to what I had when visiting Argentina.
