How it does good

Conventional cleaning products are usually laden with chemicals that are not only unsafe for our bodies, they're toxic for our environment, too. Meliora takes great care to put our safety and our planet's safety first. They start by sourcing as many ingredients as they can domestically. Those ingredients have gone through rigorous tests to ensure they don't build up in our bodies or in our environment. Meliora also uses bottles with plastic-free lining, and they ship everything in 100% recyclable cardboard and paper (no plastic or styrofoam will be found in their boxes).

How to Use

Wet your sponge or brush and lather with this bar dish soap. For those extra dirty items that need a soak in a filled sink, just hold the bar under the faucet while the water is running.

The story of Meliora starts with founder Kate studying for her Masters of Environmental Engineering, and questioning what ingredients were going into everyday cleaning products. After formulating her own vegetable soap and using it to do her own laundry, Kate knew she could offer better products that were rooted in simple ingredients and build a company that was honest about how products are made. great idea. oily residue

I LOVE the idea of a solid soap for washing dishes - no plastic. BUT I quickly realized that this soap leaves an oily film on my dishes and on the bottom of the sink. I used it for 2 weeks, rinsing and rinsing with hot water, but my dishes, especially anything clear glass looked and felt a bit greasy afterward,

Sad to have to pass

The soap does what it promises. Two people in our family had an allergic reaction that triggered an asthma attack. It took a while before we figured out the cause. It was confirmed, and we learned the reaction occurs in people who have coconut allergies aka tree nut allergies.

excess packaging and dish soap takes a lot of water to be useful

My first impressions of this product were not great. It arrived in a box about 20x bigger than necessary, which is especially frustrating when my motivation to purchase solid dish soap is to conserve resources. Using the dish soap at first was a lot of work to obtain enough on my sponge to be effective in washing dishes. I figured out that if I put the soap in a coffee mug and added a little water, which I then poured over my sponge, I had great suds. The actual suds are very effective. However, I am noticing that my approach uses the soap up very quickly, so am not sure I would order this again.
