How it does good

Shining light on the problem with industrial farming

Industrial farming is filled with environmental concerns and problems for family farmers. In an effort to bring better produced snacks into the world, co-founders Bjorn and Jamie combined family farming with serious sustainability measures. BQ Farms has a hands on approach to growing their crops which ensures high quality results all around. Their facilities rely on solar energy, and they pop their corn using sunlight. They started out with giant hemispheric cookers in the Hudson Valley and moved on to a solar barn in 2017. Right now, they're producing all the energy they use, making their farms energy independent.

  • supporting key causes

The BjornQorn farm has a one acre field that is only mowed once a year, so that it can become a field of wildflowers and support pollinators like the monarch, instead of a sorta-pointless grass lawn.
  • low carbon footprint

The clear plastic bags take less energy to make than most multi-layered snack bags. They say this packaging is not just a lower impact option, but also a physical representation of their transparency.
  • responsible sourcing

BjornQorn operate their own facilities in New York state, and share their solar technology. They also pay all their volunteers and keep their practices fair for all workers.
  • Certified Non-GMO

How to use it

Mix this with something sweet like chocolate chips or candied nuts for a sugary, salty blend.

When you're done...

The bag is recyclable through TerraCycle by following our special instructions.

These are general guidelines for broadly-recyclable materials. Check with your local recycler to confirm what they take.

The packaging is super cute. And the popcorn is pretty salty, which I like! I thought it was super good and I'd buy it again!

So close to perfect!

The bag I got was a little burned, but still amazing! I ate it even though most of it was slightly burned. I will definitely try again!
