Salted Heirloom Mini Popcorn

Pipsnacks

These kernels have been popped to the perfect size (and flavor). They pack a lot more crunch and yum than your average popcorn, even though they're on the small side.

Sustainable goodness

Heirloom corn is a special variety of corn that has been bred for a lot of generations. It comes from open-pollinated fields that help preserve biodiversity on farms. Pipsnacks sources their corn directly from domestic family farms.

Why we love it

Everybody loves a good salty popcorn. So naturally, crunching down on these smaller, snackier kernels gives us giant amounts of joy. We think their size helps the kernels hang onto the salt better, giving them an even more fulfilling flavor. Go ahead and eat these little Pipsnacks Pipcorn kernels by the handful.

How it does good

Counting on local corn farmers for success

The supply chain for corn farmers can be tricky to navigate. Often, they're competing with big, commercial farms. The Pipsnacks founders fell in love with unique qualities of heirloom corn and decided to work directly with small family farmers in the U.S. to source their special kernels. By relying on these farmers, their products have more nutritional value than commercially grown popcorn—and a better taste. Pipsnacks honors the history of heirloom corn farming by saving seeds from their harvests to replant later. They work with like-minded suppliers and prioritize treating people with respect. Plus, they make their packaging fully recyclable whenever they're able to.

Pipsnacks

Once upon a time, Jen and her brother Jeff were packing up her Chicago apartment when they found a bag of teeny, tiny heirloom corn kernels. After popping this special little bag of corn, they loved it so much that they found the family farmer who grew it (he was in Indiana). A little while later, Jen, Jeff, and Jeff’s wife Teresa launched their company: The women-owned, minority-owned, family-owned, really great little thing called Pipsnacks.
