Organic Roasted Dandelion Root Tea
1 review

Sustainable goodness
For over 40 years, Traditional Medicinals has been passionate about connecting people to the power of plants. Their wellness teas are sourced from quality herbs and formulated by trained herbalists.
Why we love it
Dandelion is more than a common weed. Every part of it can claim some wellness benefit, but the root is famous among herbalists for supporting the liver. The root's bitterness is known for stimulating digestion and the detox process. This tea from Traditional Medicinals tastes pleasantly rich and roasted, with slight bitter notes. Pro tip: Add a slice of lemon for extra zest.

How it does good
Holding herbs to a higher standard
While any hot tea can make you feel cozy, the crew behind Traditional Medicinals believe that the right blend can bring you all kinds of benefits. They're passionate about using plants for wellness, sourcing quality herbs and plants that meet their high standards. Through careful herbal combinations and rigorous testing, they raise the bar for wellness teas everywhere.
-
responsible sourcing
Traditional Medicinals uses certified organic plants to ensure sustainable growing practices and avoid synthetic chemicals, pollutants, and pesticides. After being harvested (or wild-collected and cut), they're cleaned and carefully dried, then sent to a solar-powered facility in California for quality testing. Each herb has a strict quality standard. This commitment to quality sets Traditional Medicinals tea apart. -
recyclable packaging
Around 73% of their packaging is fully or partially made with recyclable materials. Traditional Medicinals' teabags are compostable, and they have recently approved a compostable alternative for their teabag overwraps. -
low carbon footprint
Traditional Medicinals runs their corporate office and production facilities on 100% local renewable energy. They balance their corporate footprint by purchasing carbon offsets, supporting sustainable forest management projects. But they know there's still work to do, and continue to work with farming communities, suppliers, and partners to promote sustainable agriculture. -
supporting key causes
Over the last five years, Traditional Medicinals has invested over $6.6 million in their social business model. They've provided support for the Traditional Medicinals Foundation, WomenServe, Whole Planet Foundation, and other nonprofits. They also work to donate discontinued or near-expiring products to help cut down on their waste footprint.
How to use it

Pour 8 ounces of freshly boiled water over 1 tea bag. Cover and steep for 10-15 minutes. Squeeze and remove the tea bag to get all that goodness.
When you're done...
Recycle the outer box in a curbside bin. Compost the tea bags at home or an industrial facility (www.findacomposter.com). The wrappers should be thrown away for now, but Traditional Medicinals is working on compostable alternatives.
These are general guidelines for broadly-recyclable materials. Check with your local recycler to confirm what they take.
