How it does good

Did you know 1 million plastic bottles are used every single minute? Enter, Open Water, the company packaging their H2O exclusively in aluminum. Why aluminum? Aluminum drink containers are recycled more than twice as often as plastic, glass, and cartons. Plus, aluminum recycling is a closed loop (infinitely recyclable). That means the material from one bottle can go right back into making another one. As the only certified Climate Neutral water brand in North America and the first in the world, Open Water donates a portion of every sale to help clean up our oceans and keep them free of plastic.

How to Use

Recycling

These are general guidelines for broadly-recyclable materials. Check with your local recycler to confirm what they take.

Open Water

Founders Nic and Jess spent their summers playing watersports at the lake and in the ocean. As they grew up, they realized plastic bottled water is a problem, but the industry keeps growing despite the wide availability of sustainable alternatives like reusable bottles and refill stations. For them, they needed a more pragmatic solution, so they set out to start a bottled water company that was different. They launched in 2014 and have eliminated the need for over 20 million plastic bottles.
