Honey bee populations in the U.S. have declined drastically in the past decade. That's why Waxing Kara took a section of their Kent Island farm and replaced previously planted cash crops with indigenous species. Now, these native wildflower files provide a space for bees to thrive and be happy.

Waxing Kara is all about celebrating the magic of the hive. Founder Kara Brook Brown is an artist who uses encaustic, a paint made with beeswax. After taking up beekeeping in order to supply her own materials, Kara started sharing her honey products with family and friends. Today, Waxing Kara makes Bee Inspired goods from the hive, from delicious honey to soothing body care lines.
