Why we love it

This honey brings the heat in all the best ways. Nicely sweet, perfectly spicy, and oh so good on all kinds of surprising dishes. We love it drizzled over watermelon, mixed into salad dressings, or made into a simple syrup for cocktails with a kick. You could even add some hot honey over a slice of pizza (just don't tell the Italians). A perfect addition to any pantry or party.

How it does good

Supporting small apiaries worldwide

Traditionally, larger honey companies work with food brokers to secure a stable (and cheap) supply chain of honey. This means that beekeepers don't have a lot of control over the price they get, or the quality of the final product. Apis Mercantile does things differently by working directly with beekeepers, which increases the money that goes to the beekeepers, and also ensures that the honey meets Apis's high standards. They partner with small apiaries all over the world to source the best and most interesting honey varietals out there.

  • responsible sourcing

Since Apis Mercantile sources directly from beekeepers, it means they can work with smaller apiaries who otherwise would've lacked the resources to export or scale. As a reputable and consistent buyer, Apis is able to positively impact the communities of their partners.
  • recyclable packaging

As one of the first honey companies to eliminate single-use plastic, Apis Mercantile changed their tamper evident seals on their honey to kraft paper stickers. They also reduced the use of plastic labels by changing their label materials to Terraskin, a tree-free alternative made of calcium carbonate.
  • supporting key causes

Apis Mercantile donates to various organizations, such as Amor Healing Kitchen, which provides plant-based meals made by teen volunteers for people facing critical health challenges. Apis Mercantile also donates to Green Heart Project, Surfers Healing, and Warrior Surf Foundation.

How to use it

Spice up your breakfast by adding hot honey onto biscuits, bacon, or toast.

When you're done...

Good news! Separate the glass jar and metal lid and recycle both in a curbside bin.

These are general guidelines for broadly-recyclable materials. Check with your local recycler to confirm what they take.
