Our skin gets it from all sides, all day: from UV rays to every day pollutants, there's always something causing irritation, compounding aging or just plain irritating. This body oil uses antioxidants and expertly sourced fatty acids to combat free radicals and inflammation and superhero Arnica to fight eczema, relief pain and soothe bug bites. You'll literally feel it working, like a heat wave.

This biodegradable, plant-based body oil uses arnica to heal, avocado oil to reduce inflammation and an ultra-light blend of plant oils like sunflower coconut and jojoba to moisturize. Its scent is reminiscent of the 4pm feeling after a long day at the beach, when your skin is a bit crispy from the salt and warm to the touch; you think you could stay on perched on your towel running the sand between your toes forever, if they'd let you. Top notes of Bitter Orange, Coast Cypress and Maritime Chaparral Accord wafter over middle notes of Magnolia, Lavender Maillette and Shrubland Accord, all of which are grounded in a base of Warm Skin Accord, Fresh Young Coconut, Rock Rose, and Seaweed Absolute.

Ingredient Integrity

Every ingredient sourced is certified authentic by the supplier before Bathing Culture accepts an order, so you can trust the ingredient list. They're also verified to be safe for aquatic ecosystems, able to readily decompose, and safe for outdoor use Bathing Culture's products do not contain ingredients on Hive's No Good, Dirty Rotten list of banned and watch list ingredients.

Responsible Production

Bathing Culture's soap products are certified by Leaping Bunny, which confirms that they are cruelty free and were never tested on animals. Bathing Culture tests their products for allergens and their supplies test for heavy metals, pesticide residues, and mycotoxins.

Clean Packaging

Bathing Culture's recyclable and refillable HDPE bottles are made in California as close to their production facilities as possible. Their packaging is made with recycled materials and responsible production practices. Their HDPE bottles are less likely to shed microplastics because of their inert composition.

Leading Change

Bathing Culture is a Public Benefit Corporation, which means they're committed to having a positive impact through their business. For every 5 gallons of soap sold, Bathing Culture plants a tree to offset their production and shipping emissions. Additionally, they donate to DIGDEEP, a human rights nonprofit that brings clean, running water into American homes and invests in research, advocacy, and workforce development to close the Water Gap.

Rave Worthy

Our team personally tests every product to make sure it’s good enough to end up in your home, not a landfill.

How it does good

Bathing Culture's mission is to spread joy through bathing with minimal effects on the planet's waterways, soil, and climate. Their products feature biodegradable, plant-powered formulas and recycled, refillable packaging. They further minimize their climate impact by planting trees, and they give back to the community by supporting the right to clean water for all.

How to Use

Massage into clean, damp skin. Use daily, particularly after bathing or exposure to outdoor elements. Keep out of direct sunlight. Don't drink or put in eyes. If irritation occurs stop use.

Recycling

Recycle the glass bottle and paper box in a curbside recycling bin. The plastic pump top is recyclable through TerraCycle by following our special instructions.

These are general guidelines for broadly-recyclable materials. Check with your local recycler to confirm what they take.

Bathing Culture

Tim Hollinger and Spencer Arnold think that the act of bathing should be celebrated, especially when you use products crafted with the radical belief that they can be good for you and the planet. Tim and Spencer spend their spare time exploring Northern California's forest (and getting pretty dirty while doing so). Conventional personal care products that don't work and pollute waterways simply didn't cut it, so they created a brand to spread joy and peace through bath products that minimally impact waterways, soil and climate. Their products are plant-forward, recyclable, refillable and inspired by the wildlands of California.
