As much as we love chocolate, we always have room for anything vanilla. We love adding it to our Sunday morning French toast and our hot chocolates. And it's the perfect gift for the aspiring chef of the friend group.

How it does good
Making things sweeter one ethically sourced bean at a time
The international vanilla bean industry has faced more than enough challenges of social justice and environmental concerns including child labor, poverty, deforestation, wildlife endangerment, and greenhouse gas emissions. A third generation family-owned business that was one of the first to introduce an organic and Fairtrade vanilla from Madagascar, Nielsen-Massey has striven to consistently be the industry leader in the finest quality and pure vanilla products. They're also working to improve the overall health of the vanilla industry, with a particular emphasis on bettering economic prospects for the farmers and their families who make the industry possible.
As a family-owned and operated business for more than a century, Nielsen-Massey prides itself on the ethical practices of their business, including the way they treat their employees and customers. They carry this ethical commitment over to their relationships with suppliers, with a focus on respecting the countries and cultures in which they operate. Nielsen-Massey Vanillas are the founding members of the Sustainable Vanilla Initiative, actively engaged in efforts to improve the livelihoods of farmers, combat child labor, improve crop traceability, and more.
Learn MoreNielsen-Massey composts all vanilla bean waste in the summer months. Any finished extract product that needs to be disposed of is recycled and used as fuel by power companies.
Learn MoreNielsen-Massey Vanillas donates to local non-profits focused on supporting youth, education, veterans, and the environment. And they founded The Nielsen-Massey Foundation in 2009, on a mission to assist disadvantaged children and adults with education and leadership development, especially in the field of culinary arts. It's good to be organic, but the LaFaza smells better
Smells a little off, maybe slightly medicinal or alcohol(y). I love buying organic, even if it costs more, but I think I like the LaFaza brand better.

Great quality!
The flavor is fantastic!

Not Bitter!
Nice, round vanilla taste, not too alcoholy ( yeah made that a word). Very satisfied!
