How it does good

Treat your pooch and planet as you would yourself

It’s easy to not think twice about what to feed your pet, but did you know that pets’ diets alone make up 25% of the environmental impacts from animal production—use of land, water, fossil fuels, etc.? That’s why Portland Pet Food Company makes more Earth-friendly options for pet parents who care about what their pets are eating, without necessarily becoming their dog’s personal chef. With human-grade meals and treats made with 100% USA sourced ingredients, they let you feed your dog like you feed yourself.

  • responsible sourcing

Portland Pet Food Company is the only pet food company with 100% human-grade pet meals sourced and made in the USA. All of their ingredients come from domestic farms and businesses aligned with their mission of following ethical and sustainable practices. Their fresh, human-grade meat comes from Oregon-based farms, Cascade Natural Meats and Carlton Farms. The flour they use in their biscuits comes from Bob’s Red Mill, and their upcycled spent grain comes from Laurelwood Brewery and Deschutes Brewery.
  • low carbon footprint

Portland Pet Food Company is constantly working to improve their organizational structure to promote sustainability as well as repurposed ingredients in their sourcing. They keep things local by working with local breweries and local farms for ingredients in their pet products.
  • supporting key causes

Portland Pet Food Company donates 5% of their net profits to nonprofits that promote animal welfare both locally and nationally, especially after any large scale national disasters that leaves dogs displaced or abandoned. And as members of the Pet Sustainability Coalition, they are recognized as one of the top 20 pet food companies for their sustainability efforts.
