Why we love it

Fun in the sun calls for all the more attention to protecting your little ones from harmful rays. And when it comes in a reusable tin that later helps with collecting sea shells, it’s a no brainer. With non-nano zinc oxide as its only active ingredient, this sunscreen provides UVA-UVB true broad spectrum protection and is water resistant beyond 80 minutes. So the kiddos can spend more time exploring the shore or practice doing handstands in the pool.

How it does good

Mother Nature-approved sun protection

It’s no secret that conventional sunscreen contains chemicals and artificial ingredients that wreak havoc on precious marine life, especially our coral reefs. As a brand on a mission to protect the oceans, Raw Elements is committed to only using ingredients that have been produced by Mother Nature herself. They individually select and source sunscreen ingredients to be certified cruelty-free and non-GMO certified, along with other certifications. And their plastic-free line is a testament to their dedication to eventually reaching 100% plastic-free packaging for all of their products.

  • responsible sourcing

If it isn’t made by Mother Earth, it isn’t in Raw Elements sunscreen. Their sole active ingredient is non-nano zinc oxide, and all of their inactive ingredients are either certified organic or certified natural and sustainably sourced.
  • supporting key causes

Through their partnership with 1% for the Planet, Raw Elements donates 1% of their annual sales to nonprofits like Save The Sea Turtles International, Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii, and The Environmental Working Group. In 2019, Raw Elements founded World Reef Day as a call to action to reflect on the delicate ecosystem of our ocean’s coral reefs and to make simple changes to protect them.
  • recyclable packaging

Raw Elements is committed to sourcing and using the most sustainable and recyclable options available.
  • One Percent Certification
  • Leaping Bunny Certification
  • Certified Non-GMO

How to use it

Apply 15 minutes to face and/or body before you get some sun. Reapply after 80 minutes of swimming or sweating, immediately after towel drying, and at least every 2 hours.

When you're done...

Good news! Once empty, the aluminum tin is 100% curbside recyclable.

These are general guidelines for broadly-recyclable materials. Check with your local recycler to confirm what they take.

About the Brand

Raw Elements

Raw Elements

Founded by an ocean lifeguard, Raw Elements is making the safest and most effective sunscreens on the planet. Not just a brand, they are a global movement on a mission to protect the health of people and the environment.

Through his experience as a lifeguard, founder Brian Guadagno realized how harmful chemical sunscreens were and went on a quest to find a safe and effective solution, but found a void in the market instead. After doing a great deal of research, he turned his kitchen into a lab and began formulating his own. Today, Raw Elements is developing new, innovative ways with their team of fellow humans to create the most trustworthy sun care.
