If Goldilocks tried these sun-dried figs, she'd say they were "just right." The perfect balance between soft and dry, these delightfully sweet Kandahar figs are fully ripened and sun-dried before being picked by hand.

Ziba's figs are grown in Afghanistan's Kandahar province, where they're sun-dried on the tree before they're hand-picked and flattened into little discs of deliciousness. They're not too sugary, and pack more flavor than California figs. They're great for using in baking, but they're also a perfect snack all on their own.

How it does good

Back in the seventies, Afghanistan was a global leader in the production of quality dried fruits and nuts. However, years of war and conflict, as well as the unstable economic conditions that followed, meant that Afghan farms weren't able to invest in modern technology and adapt to global demand. The team at Ziba Foods is committed to restoring Afghanistan as a world-famous producer of dried fruits and nuts. From paying farmers right at the time of purchase, to working closely with farmer collectives who harvest their wild-grown products, they work hard to bring quality dried fruits and nuts to people around the world, while providing a reliable source of income for family farms across Afghanistan. Plus, Ziba is helping to start the first official Organic Certification Program for dried fruits and nuts in Afghanistan.

How to Use

Add a few dried figs to a bowl of Greek yogurt. Sprinkle in some walnuts and drizzle some honey over the top.

Recycling

Ziba's packaging is recyclable through TerraCycle by following our special instructions.

These are general guidelines for broadly-recyclable materials. Check with your local recycler to confirm what they take.
