How it does good
Conventional cleaning products are usually laden with chemicals that are not only unsafe for our bodies, they're toxic for our environment, too. Meliora takes great care to put our safety and our planet's safety first. They start by sourcing as many ingredients as they can domestically. Those ingredients have gone through rigorous tests to ensure they don't build up in our bodies or in our environment. Meliora also uses bottles with plastic-free lining, and they ship everything in 100% recyclable cardboard and paper (no plastic or styrofoam will be found in their boxes).

The story of Meliora starts with founder Kate studying for her Masters of Environmental Engineering, and questioning what ingredients were going into everyday cleaning products. It became clear that it was hard to be a responsible consumer and to do no harm. After formulating her own vegetable soap and using it to do her own laundry, Kate knew she could offer better products that were rooted in simple ingredients and build a company that was honest about how products are made. She launched Meliora and since then, sustainability and disclosing 100% of the ingredients have been a cornerstone of her brand.

This bar dish soap is amazing. So good at getting grease and grime and you can get a really great lather going too. I had previously tried a different brand's dish soap bar and was very pleased but the price was nearly twice this bar's so I tried this one and I think it might be even better. I would totally recommend.

I tried out other so-called eco-friendly dish detergents. They either came in the plastic pouch or it didn't quite do the job for cleaning. This dish soap came in totally plastic-free. It does a super great job cleaning dishes!! A little rub on the soap takes you through quite a bit of dishes. I LOVE this product!

POSITIVES: - no plastic - pleasant, natural lemon scent that is not overpowering NEGATIVES: - subpar cleaning - I had to scrub really hard and wash twice to remove food - overpriced for what it is I am trying to reduce how much plastic I use and was excited to try to dish soap bar. Unfortunately it makes cleaning dishes that have stuck-on food on them time consuming so I will not buy this again.
