How it does good
Starting from scratch and building something better
Nut butters can be made with very simple ingredients. Namely the nuts themselves. When it comes to farming them, Big Spoon Roasters has committed to responsible sourcing. Mark Overbay, the founder, was inspired to create his nut butters after spending time in Zimbabwe. There, he learned to honor simple ingredients and bring care into everything he makes. By using trusted, transparent farms and producers that share their philosophy, Big Spoon makes it clear that their relationships with suppliers are honest and long-lasting. Doing this means both the farmers and Big Spoon can help each other by collectively growing the demand for higher quality, sustainable agriculture. Today, Big Spoon makes their delicious nut butters in Durham, NC. They also work with Bee Friendly Certified almond growers in California along with domestic pecan farmers in Georgia, ginger farmers in Fiji, sorghum farmers in Tennessee, and more partners that ensure freshness, flavor, and quality.

Katie here with your certified-HIver review. I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE THINKING.... is this cashew butter worth it? I am here to tell you yes, yes it is. Before Hive, I was a regular old whatever natural almond butter off the shelf kind of gal, and it served me fine. BUT THEN. Then, I tried Big Spoon. And breakfast has never been the same. Big Spoon is just impressive all around... but you've read the product page, right? So I'll cut to the chase. There are other nut butters, and then there is Big Spoon. Cashews are my favorite, and so this one just does it for me -the sea saltiness, the smooth, light cashew flavor... this on toast is my absolute morning jam minus the jam. I feel like I'm doing something extra special for myself every time I spread it on a piece of multigrain. So yes, this nut butter is certainly worth it.
