How it does good
Ethical sourcing as a central business practice
Cocoa Santé sources their high quality cocoa using an Equal Partner Direct Buying Program. They purchase directly from the farm cooperatives in the Dominican Republic and South America, so they can ensure their farmers get the best prices. Their milk and organic cane sugar come from cooperatives in Vermont, and they keep the rest of their ingredients as natural and organic as possible while staying mindful of sustainable and ethical practices. By supporting cocoa farms that are owned and operated by small scale farmers, the profits from Cocoa Santé's purchases can directly aid area education projects and infrastructure.

This is so yum! I have had spicy cocoa before, but it usually contains chili so I don't like it. These spices of cinnamon, cardamom, and ginger give it just a bit of kick but my young children still like it. Which is too bad really because I want to keep it just for myself. Note: it says to use 5 tablespoons but that yields a super thick hot cocoa. I do wish that the "fair trade cooperatives" in the Dominican Republic were named so that they also can get some credit/PR.
