The original Taos Bake. Crunchy cereal is mixed with creamy peanut butter and chewy butterscotch, then coated in bittersweet dark chocolate for a…sorry, what were we saying? We just got really hungry.

Of all the scotches (hop, eggs, whiskey), butter is our all-time favorite. Butterscotch has a complex, robust flavor on top of its delightful sweetness, and the only thing that could possibly make it better is multigrain cereal and a few good seeds to add just a bit of texture. Enveloped in dark chocolate and melded with peanut butter, this snack bar is OMG good.

Ingredient Integrity

Toas Bakes get their nuts and coffee from roasters right in New Mexico, and source honey from Colorado. By sourcing non-GMO products, Toas Bakes is reducing your exposure to toxic herbicides that GMO crops are bioengineered to be resistant to. Taos Bakes' products do not contain ingredients on Hive's No Good, Dirty Rotten list of banned and watch list ingredients.

Responsible Production

All of Tao's snacks are made in a solar-powered production facility in Northern New Mexico, and they are always looking for ways to reduce their carbon footprint to better support the earth.

Clean Packaging

Currently, their individual bake packages do include a thin layer of plastic for freshness that is non-recyclable. Boxes, paper goods, and other shipping materials are made from recycled paperboard and can be recycled, and we will continue pushing to add to that list.

How it does good

Taos Bakes believes that making a positive impact is worth doing simply because it's the right thing to do. In addition to sourcing from local producers to support their community's economy, they closely monitor their supply chain and their facilities to ensure environmental practices, like sustainable irrigation, natural fertilizer use, and a solar-powered kitchen. Their bars are branded with illustrations of customers, and it's these people they have in mind when working to support the lives and livelihoods of New Mexico, the low-income Village of Questa where they're based, and the earth we all share. On top of that, they're crafting unique baked products without GMOs that are good for soil but don't taste like it.

How to Use

Whether the leaves are just beginning to change, or you're smack in the middle of spring, butterscotch evokes feelings of autumn. Pair this bar with sliced apples or maple bacon bits for a touch of fall.

Recycling

The plastic wrapper is recyclable through TerraCycle by following our special instructions. The cardboard caddy is curbside recyclable.

These are general guidelines for broadly-recyclable materials. Check with your local recycler to confirm what they take.
