Piñon Coffee & Dark Chocolate Granola Bars - Box of 12

Rich, fragrant coffee. Weighty, vaguely earthy dark chocolate. Putting these two together just makes sense. Add some nuts, seeds, and vanilla bean flavor for a sweet and salty crunch, and we're in heaven.
Sustainable goodness
Taos Bakes' kitchen is solar-powered, and they're supporting their village by sourcing from local farmers and paying a living wage.
Why we love it
Mochaccino lovers, rejoice. Now you can get that flawless coffee-and-chocolate taste in a to-go cup and a snack bar. Piñon coffee, hand-roasted in New Mexico, meets silky-sweet honey, toasty coconut sugar, sea salt, and, of course, dark chocolate for a bar begging to be devoured but made to be savored.

How it does good
A small-town business making a big impact
Taos Bakes believes that making a positive impact is worth doing simply because it’s the right thing to do. In addition to sourcing from local producers to support their community’s economy, they closely monitor their supply chain and their facilities to ensure environmental practices, like sustainable irrigation, natural fertilizer use, and a solar-powered kitchen. Their bars are branded with illustrations of customers, and it’s these people they have in mind when working to support the lives and livelihoods of New Mexico, the low-income Village of Questa where they’re based, and the earth we all share. On top of that, they’re crafting unique baked products without GMOs that are good for soil but don’t taste like it.

responsible sourcing
After the closure of a local mine damaged their town’s economy, Taos worked to revitalize things with full-time manufacturing jobs paying a living wage. They get their nuts and coffee from roasters right in New Mexico, and source honey from Colorado. -
low carbon footprint
Taos Bakes’ kitchen is 100% solar-powered, and the only non-solar power used in their manufacturing facility is the gas they need to regulate their ovens. By sourcing as many local ingredients as they can, they limit the emissions associated with shipping and transport. -
supporting key causes
As a part of their effort to do right by the environment, they give a portion of proceeds to the National Parks Foundation. They also partner with food banks in their community and the New Mexico Department of Education to donate products.
How to use it

Bittersweet dark chocolate pairs best with super-sweet fruits, so enjoy this bar with dried strawberries or banana or pineapple chips.
When you're done...
The plastic wrapper is recyclable through TerraCycle by following our special instructions. The cardboard caddy is curbside recyclable.
These are general guidelines for broadly-recyclable materials. Check with your local recycler to confirm what they take.
