Hive Five™ Certified
No need to guess what's in your food or how it was made. Our experts vet every product for ingredient integrity, responsible sourcing, and great taste using our own criteria called the Hive Five.
Ingredient
Integrity
88 Acres sources the highest quality ingredients from sustainable farms. Their Seed Butters are certified organic and non-GMO, and bars are non-GMO. They don't use any additives, preservatives or emulsifiers. 88 Acres uses Organic Expeller Pressed Sunflower Oil - that means the oil is physically extracted from the seeds rather than using solvents or chemicals. This reduces the risk of having traces of chemicals in the oil. 88 Acres' products do not contain ingredients on Hive's No Good, Dirty Rotten list of banned and watch list ingredients.
Responsible Production
88 Acres owns their facility and creates zero food waste by using upcycling and composting at their facilities. They follow all FDA regulations regarding lead and heavy metals and very batch of their oats is tested for glyphosate, and they uphold stricter standards than the EPA.
Clean Packaging
Leading Change
88 Acres champions human rights and hunger initiatives, including donations to the NAACP Legal Fund and Black Lives Matter.

88 Acres
88 Acres believes in nutrition that is all good for every body, always. They chose the name 88 Acres as a reminder of the rural roots that bind farm to pantry, and heart to heart. Where you don't have to fear food, and the whole family can enjoy the same great tastes. When Nicole started 88 Acres, she worked out of her kitchen, crafting recipes packed with seeds, with lots of delicious allergy-free options for everyone in her family. Today, the 88 Acres Bakery is cooking in small batches in Boston and driving economic development in the local area along the way.
