How it does good
Food made good for the good of all people
Food might not be created equal, but it isn’t distributed equally either. Communities and families all over the U.S. are unable to access the nutrients and high-quality ingredients they need due to limitations on budgets, free time, food education, and outdoor space. A Dozen Cousins knows the risks associated with these issues, including diabetes and diet-related illnesses, and they believe good, healthy food should be available to all people, regardless of location or income level. By offering plant-based, non-GMO ingredients at a lower price point, they’re making food more affordable and easier to find. They also offer annual grant support and volunteer their time to help out communities and unlock the gates to better food for everyone.
supporting key causes
Every year, A Dozen Cousins donates funds and time to a non-profit trying to close the health gap in the US. In 2019, they partnered with The Happy Kitchen/La Cocina Alegre to teach fifty families about nutritious, budget-friendly meals from their own cultures. By making traditional Black- and Latino-inspired products, they're bringing African, Spanish, and Indigenous dishes to the forefront.Learn More
You’ll recognize everything on A Dozen Cousins’ ingredient lists, and you can be sure it's all plant-based, non-GMO, and naturally gluten-free. They nix artificial flavors and swap them for nourishing, high-quality, and authentic recipes.Learn More

About the Brand
A Dozen Cousins
Growing up, founder Ibraheem Basir's kitchen was a melting pot of Creole, Caribbean, and Latin American cooking. As he got older and learned the importance of eating naturally, he hated that it was so hard to find convenient foods that were both healthy and authentic. He started A Dozen Cousins, inspired by his daughter and her 11 cousins, so that it would be easier to enjoy authentic cultural recipes made with wholesome ingredients. Today, A Dozen Cousins is on a mission to eliminate socioeconomic health disparities in the US.Shop Brand

very tasty and the packaging was perfect!
The beans are expensive but vastly superior to the canned beans found in most grocery stores.
I bought these beans to give my tacos a little extra kick. That they did. Super flavorful and delicious. Definitely going on out regular shopping list!
It's Okay. May Try Others.
An easy side that works well for my life style. I like the homey flavor and the mission of the brand. I am eager to try others.
Pretty good, a little dry
Convenient and it was nice to have it pre-seasoned and ready to go. I was expecting a tad more flavor to the beans, and the consistency straight out of the pouch was a little dry (and got dryer when cooked). Nothing a little salsa couldn't fix!
